Religion and Abuse - smells like a power trip to me!

From the BBC:

The report said that girls supervised by orders of nuns, chiefly the Sisters of Mercy, suffered much less sexual abuse but frequent assaults and humiliation designed to make them feel worthless.

Frequent assaults, humiliation, worthlessness. Reminds me of my early school days, when I went to a school run by nuns. Coincidence? I think not. These are signs of how rotten societies get when organized religion has its way with people. Its evident that God and Religion have nothing to do with each other and are only linked by the filth of the human mind.

Congratulations!!! Starbucks profits decline by 77%

Finally! The trash that Starbucks peddles is getting them less money. Sadly, they still make a profit. I wish they would just sink and disappear.

I remember when the idiots introduced “Venti” as a size and would look at me silly when I asked for a small. “Oh, we don’t carry that. Would you like a tall instead?”

Can’t even roast and brew a decent cup of coffee. And the clueless who drink it? They think “bitter” is how coffee is supposed to be. Suckers.

Good riddance. BBC NEWS | Business | Starbucks profits decline by 77%

Laser beams pointing to "God"

Check out this story. Mecca mosques ‘wrongly aligned’

They are going to use laser beams to point to “God”. Here’s an idea. Align with “God” by being nice to people, by helping your neighbors, and by appreciating that the world belongs to all of us.

I say “God” because its an entity that really can’t be defined…replace it with your own muddled world view.

Cheney who?

I have a vague recollection that we had a terrible vice president by that last name. I, for one, couldn’t tell whether he was happy or grumpy. Looked kinda constipated, actually. I do have a good recollection that we now have a new vice president. So why is this Cheney guy still talking?

Go home, man! Mow the lawn or something. Let the people in office do their job!

Bobby can't talk

Just saw a bit of the Republican response to President Obama’s address to Congress. This response was done by Bobby Jindal. Piyush Jindal, that is, who goes by the name of “Bobby”, Governor of Louisiana.

Let me say, it was painful. I didn’t watch it through. He sounded like someone selling insurance on Indian TV channel. I could barely follow it.

He may be a good governor, but oration is a skill best left to those who can deliver, and it looks like Bobby can’t deliver.

Getting directly to the people...

We’ve had radio and TV in the past that let’s people in power get their message to the masses. This is a new generation, where modes have grown. We still have radio and TV, but now the Web is quickly adding to that experience.

I’ve watched the previous president on youtube, but unfortunately the search words were comedy and spoof related. Lots of goofs and comedy, but little substance. This one is way better.

Three asses in DC

I’ve been watching the three automobile CEOs at the senate on CSPAN. What a joke these guys are. Complete asshats. They still don’t want to make better cars. They keep drawing circles around the issue.

The representative from Michigan (what an ass!) was the last one to ask questions. Instead, he had statements that ended with a question mark – basically putting words in the mouths of the three CEOs.

Send these guys back to Detroit. We don’t need their trash! I do not want my money given to these guys. Give the money to Tesla instead!!!

Sugar everywhere

55,000 Sugar/GNU/Linux XO machines are being shipped every month to kids all over the world. This is a generation getting ready to break the bonds of digital slavery and build a commons for themselves on free and open source software and open content and standards.

In the meantime, Microsoft announced a pilot study to run Windows XP, that seven year old system that it is desperately trying to ditch in the US and Europe, on the same XO laptops in a last ditch effort to continue to poison the pool. Keep at it, Microsoft. Your own incompetence will be the end of you.

By the way, I’m curious – why not Vista on the XO? Too fat for kids?
